For 38 years I searched for the true me, the real me, the brave me hiding in the shadows. I always wished I was born a little bit more courageous, a little bit prettier and a little bit smarter. It wasn’t until I learnt to love the whole of me inside and out, top to bottom, past me and future me that I finally found the me I had been waiting for all along.
There are many ways to learn to love yourself including Counselling, Meditation, Self-help books, Shadow work, Inner child work, Ceremonies, Womens circles, Kinesiology etc. This list is endless if you are will to try. This kind of process and development doesn’t happen in a weekend course however, it is small steps, many times over with whatever way works best for you. This is prioritised, dedicated time to put you first to grow into the best version of yourself.

- Be Impeccable with Your Word – speak only in kindness to yourself and others and only speak in truth. Use the power of the spoken word to spread love with clear and open communication.
- Don't Take Anything Personally – What others say or do is only a projection of their unhealed trauma and reality. When you are able to let what others say and do fall away from you like water off a ducks back then you will no longer be a victim.
- Don't Make assumptions – Assuming without clarification creates confusion and for misunderstanding to flourish. Stop the drama and the victimhood by being brave enough to ask for your needs to be met and to clarify why if they aren’t. This one agreement alone will transform your life!
- Always Do Your Best – Wake up each day with the intention of doing the very best you can. Acknowledge each small achievement and be compassionate with yourself. We all have bad days if you avoid judging you, you will no longer judge others.

Free form writing is a great way to get all the stuff off your chest that you wish you could have said, that society doesn’t let you say and the unkind words you are trying not to say in Agreement no. 1. Grab a cheap notepad and pen and write anything and everything that comes to mind before bed or when you are still lying awake at 2am and can’t turn your monkey mind off. Once you have gotten it all out rip it up and throw it away and release all that no longer serves you.
Daily gratitude practice…yeah yeah been there and done that right? The key to gratitude is actually feeling it! Feeling the emotion of gratitude in your heart, not just saying empty words or wasting lipstick on the mirror. Start small and start 1st thing in the morning. When your eyes open and the alarm has gone off, before any negatives jump in. Feel gratitude in your heart that you woke up, that your eyes have sight, that your lungs and heart work, that you can stand on 2 feet. Create a muscle memory of the elevated emotion of gratitude and your body will begin to do the work for you. Set your alarm reminder to remind you of your gratitude practice.
Small steps make for big achievements when we do these positive things consciously, consistently and with passion. It has taken me many years of trying this and that, falling back into bad habits but always getting back up and trying again or something new. Always remember to love you for what you have achieved and compassion for what you haven’t…yet. Looking back, I would never have been convinced that I could reach the state of love and acceptance I have for my body, mind and soul that I do in this moment. If I can do it, you can too. If you think you can’t…sit with that, ask yourself why you think you can’t or don’t want too? Each time you consciously recognise the resistance to change you are taking a big step forward 90% of change comes from recognising your unconscious habits.
